About

“We are all about fusing multiple genres with sick synth programming and memorable melodies,” Stephen Coleman declares enthusiastically while scarfing down a Jello pudding snack.  “Ross and I started writing together when his best friend passed away in 2006.  Two years later, we collaborated on what is now our first song Golden Heart Symphony, and that’s when it hit us  like white on rice…we need to make more music together!”

This decision was an easy one for the two cousins, despite the geographic separation (VA and Iowa).  Now Ross and Stephen, aka SECTR24, work seamlessly together, for the sheer love and joy of the music.  They have a very unique sound and style which has created opportunities for them to co-produce Top 40 dance remixes with Grammy nominee Bill Hamel, including Erica Jayne’s #1 Billboard Dance single “Pretty Mess”, Tegan and Sara’s “Alligator”, and Jason Derulo’s top 10 Billboard smash “In My Head.”  They also teamed up with Hamel and legendary Drum n’ Bass DJ, AK1200, to create “Sanctuary,” an international dance radio hit that was subsequently licensed by Universal Music for the popular “Tap Tap Revenge” iPhone game and “World Rally Championship 2010.”

On December 16, 2009 the two cousins released their first artist album, “A Tattooed Melody.”  The album moved thousands of units with the help of their winter East Coast tour that took them to 13 cities in 15 days.  Post-album, the boys have been very busy writing and producing tracks for artists from multiple genres.  Their June 2010 release on Armada Music includes two of their songs on Roger Shah’s Magic Island Volume 3 compilation CD, including an official collaboration between the two featuring singer/songwriter Todd Wright on the “Lay Down” track. Their songs have been aired on Armin Van Buuren’s radio show “A State of Trance” and supported by the top DJ’s in the world.

Ross Lara and Stephen Coleman have already started to leave their footprint on the world of pop and electronic music.  When you listen to their music you can’t help but be amazed by its diversity.  Producing music for artists from some of the top labels in the industry - Universal, Warner Bros, RM, Epic, and Armada - guarantees that the work of these two rising stars will pop up in your iPod, tuned up, and ready to go for whatever mood you find yourself in.  Stay tuned...
